WATTYL Killrust Cold Galvit 500ml Zinc-Rich Epoxy Primer Rust Protection

Killrust Cold Galvit is a heavy-duty zinc-rich epoxy primer that provides long-term protection to steel, wrought iron, and other ferrous metals. Killrust Cold Galvit is recommended as a long-term, heavy-duty cold galvanising primer for atmospheric corrosion protection of structural steelwork such as the exterior of tanks, building plants, machinery, and steel handrails and balustrades.

• Zinc-Rich Formula: Contains a high percentage of zinc to deliver galvanic protection and inhibit rust.
• Heavy-Duty Durability: Designed for continuous exposure to harsh environments, including coastal and industrial conditions.
• Epoxy Primer Technology: Excellent adhesion to bare or prepared ferrous metals for a long-lasting finish.
• Fast Dry Time: Surface dry in approximately 30 minutes at 25 °C for quicker recoat.
• Single-Pack Convenience: No need to mix with a separate hardener — easier to use and maintain.
• Grey Matt Finish: Dries to a flat grey that closely resembles galvanised steel.

Application

• Intended Use: Developed for application on steel, wrought iron, structural components, plant equipment, railings, tanks and machinery. 
• Recoat Time: Allow 24 hours between coats under normal conditions (25 °C, 50% RH).
• Coverage: Up to approximately 9 m² per litre, depending on surface profile and application technique.
• Film Thickness: Wet film ~110 µm, dry film ~50 µm nominal.
• Thinning: If needed, thin with up to 10% Wattyl Killrust Cold Galvit Thinner.
• Clean-Up: Use Wattyl Killrust Cold Galvit Thinner to clean equipment after use.
• Highly flammable; use with adequate ventilation and avoid ignition sources.
