Matrix Edge MP-460 2:1 VOC Epoxy Primer Greys is a professional automotive epoxy that provides excellent adhesion and corrosion resistance to properly prepared metal, fiberglass and aluminum substrates as well as plastic body fillers.

2:1 VOC Epoxy Primer features an easy-to-use 1:1 mixing ratio and may be top coated with Matrix Edge 2K Primer Sealer, Matrix Edge Single Stage and Matrix Edge Basecoat/Clearcoat.

Compatible Hardener: MAV-465 Epoxy Primer Activator (1:1 Mixing Ratio)

Application

• Intended Use: Designed for use over bare metal, sanded existing finishes and properly prepared repair areas.
• Mixing Ratio: Mix Ratio: 1:1 with Matrix Edge MAV-465 Epoxy Primer Activator
• Application Method: Apply 2-3 single coats (approx. 1.0-1.5 mils DFT per coat) and allow 10-20 minutes flash time between coats. 
  

NOTE: DO NOT apply MP-460 over Etch Primer.

Pot Life at 25°C (77°F)

• 12 Hours

NOTE: Pot life will shorten as temperatures increase. Matrix Edge products are not recommended for use when panel temperature is below 15.5°C (60°F).

Flash / Dry Times

• Flash: 10-20 minutes
• Air Dry: 1-2 hours
• Baking: 30 minutes @ metal temp. of 60°C (140°F)
• Short Wave: 10 minutes
• Sanding:12 hours

NOTE: Single layer applications can be top coated directly after flash of 15-30 minutes up to 6 hours, after which sanding is required. Two layer applications must be sanded prior to topcoating.

RECOAT

• Top coat within 48 hours. If time exceeds 48 hours the primer must be sanded and cleaned prior to application of additional primer or top coat.
