MATRIX MP-233 DTM Surfacer Sealer Grey is a versatile direct to metal primer designed to function as both a surfacer and sealer in automotive refinishing applications.

Engineered for strong adhesion to properly prepared bare metal and existing finishes, this grey primer provides excellent build, sanding performance and substrate sealing. Ideal for collision repair, restoration and refinishing work, it delivers a smooth, uniform foundation ready for topcoat application.

Features

Application

• Mixing Ratio: Mix with MH-232 DTM Hardener either 4:1:1 to use as a surfacer or 4:1:2 to use as a sealer
• Application Method: 

As a surfacer: Spray 1-3 medium wet coats.

As a sealer: Spray 1-2 medium wet coats and allow each coat to flash completely dull before applying next coat.

• Surface Preparation: Ensure substrate is clean, dry and free from rust, grease and contaminants before application.
• Intended Use: Designed for automotive panels including cars and light commercial vehicles.

• 2-3 Hours

NOTE: Pot life will shorten as temperatures increase. Matrix Edge products are not recommended for use when panel temperature is below 15.5°C (60°F).

Flash / Dry Times

SEALER

Air Dry at 25°C (77°F)

• Flash time: 5-10 minutes
• To sand: Nib sand 20 minutes
• To topcoat: 20-30 minutes
• To topcoat without sanding: 8 hours max

SURFACER

Air Dry at 25°C (77°F)

• Flash time: 10-15 minutes
• To sand: 60-90 minutes
• To topcoat: 30 minutes
• To topcoat without sanding: N/A
