MATRIX EDGE Premium Basecoat is Matrix Edge's most advanced basecoat solution formulated for superior colour accuracy, smooth application and excellent coverage. Custom mixed to your selected vehicle paint code, it is ideal for professional repairs, full resprays and refinishing projects where consistent colour match and premium finish are essential. Best used for spot, panel and multi-panel repair work and full rebuilds.

Application

• Mixing Ratio: Mix 1:1 with compatible MR-Series Matrix Edge Reducers:

MR-0960 (Cool), MR-0970 (Medium), MR-0985 (Hot), or MR-0995 (Very Hot)

Or Mix: 1 Part Premium Basecoat with 1 Part compatible MR-Series Reducers and 1% MH-061 Basecoat Activator by volume (1:1:1%)*

• Intended Use: Suitable for cars, commercial vehicles, panel repairs and full refinishing.
• Application Method: Apply 2 to 3 medium wet coats with a 75% overlap or until
  hiding is achieved
• Coverage: Coverage varies depending on colour, spray technique, film thickness and surface condition.
• Finish Quality: Engineered to deliver consistent colour accuracy and professional results when clear coated.

Technical Data

POT LIFE at 25°C (77°F)
- Sprayable up to 2 hours with MH-061
- 7 days when mixed without MH-061
Note: Pot life will shorten as temperatures increase. Matrix Edge products are not recommended for use when panel temperature is below 25°C.

 SURFACE PREPARATION
- Surfaces should be prepared using the proper undercoat system following
recommended procedures.
- All surfaces should be final sanded with P400-P600 grit or equivalent.

SPRAY GUN SET UP
- Compliant: 1.3mm - 1.4mm
- HVLP Fluid Tip: 1.3mm - 1.4mm

FLASH / DRY TIMES
AIR DRY at 25°C (77°F)
- Flash between coats: 5-10 minutes
- Tape time: 30 minutes
- To clearcoat: 20 minutes

Note: Extended flash times are recommended above 3 coat application
Note: Premium Basecoat must be scuffed after 24 hours and reapplied before clearcoating
