Matrix Edge MP-231 DTM Surfacer/Sealer White is a premium high-build direct-to-metal primer designed to provide outstanding adhesion, corrosion resistance and sanding performance. Suitable for use as either a primer surfacer or primer sealer, MP-231 is engineered to produce an excellent foundation for high-quality automotive refinishing.

Fast drying and easy to sand, MP-231 can be applied directly to properly prepared steel, aluminium, fibreglass, body filler, OEM finishes and OEM E-coat. As part of the Matrix Edge refinishing system, it delivers excellent build, superior substrate adhesion and a smooth, uniform surface ready for topcoating.

Application

• Primer Surfacer Mixing Ratio: 4 Parts MP-231 : 1 Part MA-232 DTM Activator : 1 Part MR-Series Reducer (4:1:1 by volume).
• Primer Sealer Mixing Ratio: 4 Parts MP-231 : 1 Part MA-232 DTM Activator : 2 Parts MR-Series Reducer (4:1:2 by volume).
• Compatible Reducers: MR-0960 (Cool), MR-0970 (Medium), MR-0985 (Hot) or MR-0995 (Very Hot).
• Application Method: Primer Surfacer: Apply 1–3 medium wet coats. Primer Sealer: Apply 1–2 medium wet coats, allowing each coat to flash completely dull before recoating.
• Topcoats: Compatible with all Matrix Edge Refinish Basecoats and Matrix Edge 2K Single Stage topcoats.

Technical Data

• Pot Life at 25°C: 2–3 hours.
• Surface Preparation: Pre-clean with a Matrix Edge surface cleaner before sanding. Re-clean after sanding using clean, lint-free cloths.
• Recommended Substrates: Steel, Aluminium, Fibreglass, Body Filler, OEM E-Coat, OEM Finishes, Plastic and Flexible Substrates (properly prepared).
• Spray Gun Setup: Primer Surfacer: 1.4–1.8mm. Primer Sealer: 1.3–1.4mm.
• Air Pressure: Gravity Feed 20–29 PSI (1.5–2.0 bar) or as recommended by the spray gun manufacturer.
• Clean Up: Clean spray equipment immediately after use.
