Built with powerful, precision-balanced air-driven motors and durable, lightweight aluminum housing, these ergonomically designed tools stand up to industrial production and reduce user fatigue for hours of comfortable operation. The Elite SGV sander is part of the 3M Clean Sanding System, which includes the SGV tool, Clean Sanding disc pad, and Clean Sanding disc (sold separately), engineered to effectively eliminate dust from the workpiece and surrounding space. It uses inlet air to create its own venturi vacuum, extracting dust from the work surface and expelling it through a wide collection port into a filter bag. The 3M Clean Sanding Filter Bag included with the tool locks dust away for disposal.

Designed with the operator in mind, 3M Elite Series Random Orbital Sanders include ergonomic features that decrease work strain and improve productivity. The extended curved wrist rest reduces stress on the hand and wrist, providing additional leverage, while the recessed lever platform eliminates pinch and pressure points on the operator's palm. The tool offers three grip sizes, with a standard grip diameter of 2 3/4” and two additional sizes available (2 1/2” and 3” sold separately). The rubber grip absorbs and reduces vibration and features 3M Gripping Material for a stronger grip and more control. Enhanced safety features include an internal muffler that protects operator hearing and a thumb-controlled speed dial that reduces inadvertent speed changes.

3M Elite sanders perform best when paired with 3M disc pads and abrasives. Designed specifically to optimize performance, the disc pad maximizes dust extraction and minimizes vibration for smooth operation. The 3M proprietary hole pattern reduces swarf in the middle of the pad and increases disc performance and life. The 3M Hookit system enables easy disc changeouts and allows operators to use Scotch-Brite discs in addition to coated abrasive Hookit discs (both sold separately).

3M random orbital sanders optimize sanding and surface preparation on wood, metal, fiberglass, composite materials, and many other substrates. Also known as dual action (D/A) palm sanders, these industrial-grade tools rotate the abrasive disc and disc pad in two simultaneous overlapping oval patterns, ensuring no single abrasive particle follows the same path twice. This produces a random scratch and a swirl-free finish, ready for paint or varnish.
