Our 3M™ Hookit™ Clean Sanding Abrasive Disc Pad combines some of our most advanced technologies to handle even aggressive auto body sanding jobs. This firm density, 1/2-inch foam pad features our Clean Sanding hole pattern for effective dust evacuation with 6-hole discs. Hookit™ attachment makes disc change-out fast and easy, and maximizes disc life.

A Firm Base for Heavy Sanding
We designed our 3M™ Hookit™ Clean Sanding Abrasive Disc Pad for long life even during heavy duty auto body sanding and refinishing. The 6-inch diameter, 1/2-inch thick foam body is density rated firm, with a 15-degree taper for flat sanding and for more aggressive applications. The disc pad features 5/16-24 external threads which are compatible with most orbital or random orbital sanders.

About Our Clean Sanding System
For use with 6-inch 3M™ Hookit™ Clean Sanding discs with 6-hole configurations, the back-up pad features the 3M™ Clean Sanding dust management system — a multiple-hole design that facilitates dust extraction, prolonging disc life. The Clean Sanding dust-management system evacuates dust from the work surface, dramatically increasing disc life and maximizing cut-rate. Optimized with a self-generated vacuum sanding tool fitted with a Clean Sanding filter bag (sold separately), Clean Sanding products allow the vacuum to suction dust from the air and off of the work piece. This reduces loading of the disc and adds life to the abrasive. Additionally, reducing dust in the air helps improve shop cleanliness. You can also pair Clean Sanding abrasives with Clean Sanding disc pads for use on a central-vacuum-ready sander.

About Our Hookit™ Attachment System
The Hookit™ hook-and-loop feature makes disc attachment, removal, and re-attachment clean and easy, and facilitates use and re-use of the disc for the extent of the abrasive life. Hookit™ disc pads have J-shaped hooks of the type most commonly used in everyday hook-and-loop applications. Hookit™ disc pads grip the brushed nylon loop backings of 3M Hookit™ discs and provide a finer finish than do adhesive backed discs. The Hookit™ system is designed for work spaces where adhesive backed discs may become contaminated by dust, dirt, or flying debris.

Firm Back-Up from 3M
Our 3M™ Hookit™ Clean Sanding Abrasive Disc Pad delivers firm support for abrasive discs during even the most aggressive auto body sanding projects — helping auto body professionals get the most out of their sanding equipment and their operations.

A great unit with six holes to suit the paper

A great unit with six holes to suit the paper.
unfortunately it is attached with a fixed thread,
Hence requiring the ability to lock the machine while fastening it by hand.
It would be preferable to have the Allen Bolt attachment method using an Allen key to tighten the pad onto the machine
